Kristen Virgo

Kristen, our Program Manager, went to Kenya for the first time in May of 2009. She fell in love with the people in the Kenyan communities and the heart they had to serve one another. She knew she wanted to find a way to serve them, even while here in the States. She made additional trips to Kenya as well as Haiti before joining BrightPoint in August of 2011. She is using her administrative background and passion to coordinate all of BrightPoint's programs. Kristen is a big animal lover! Kristen was married to Will in March of 2013. They live in Marietta along with their three dogs.

     

 

Irene Ecker

Irene initially started as a volunteer with BrightPoint for Children, and became our Operations Manager in June 2013. She has a heart to raise up a generation of young leaders who are aware of their gifts and abilities. She desires that all children, especially under privileged children, use their talents to become all that God intends for them to be. After spending over 25 years in Finance related areas in the corporate world, Irene is very happy to have the opportunity to use her skills and experience to help the children and partners served by BrightPoint. Irene oversees internal operations.

     

 

David Kariuki

David – Kenya Program Manager of BrightPoint for Children – lived as an orphan on the streets of Eldoret, Kenya starting at the age of 6. His story of survival is both heart-breaking and inspiring. After years of struggle, David was saved from the streets by a man named Charles Mulli, who gave him a place to live at a children’s home. While there, he excelled in school and completed primary and then secondary school. He continued to work hard on his education, earning a degree in Sociology and a Masters in Counseling Psychology.David is now able to give back to other needy children through his role with BrightPoint. His journey is now an inspiration to the children he now helps. He recognizes the importance of education in bettering the lives of children around the world. David hopes he can “help them see a positive aspect of their lives when they feel they have lost all.” David lives in Nairobi with his wife Keziah, and their young daughters Lorraine and LainyGrace.

     

 

Dianne Brasuell

Dianne has been job sharing  the accounting duties at BrightPoint with Patti since 2011.  With past careers in both math education and pediatric nursing, she has demonstated a love for helping children and feels so blessed to now be helping children around the world through BrightPoint.  Dianne is an active member of Mt. Bethel UMC and has been on Mt. Bethel mission teams to Kenya and West Virginia.  Dianne loves to read, travel and play tennis and has three grown children and two beloved dogs.  She lives in Marietta with Justin, her husband of 30 years, who is a co-founder of BrightPoint.

     

 

Patti Zedrow

Patti has been with BrightPoint since 2011 and job shares with Dianne in the accounting area.  She is a CPA and was instrumental in helping BrightPoint create its financial system in 2007.  She loves being able to help in the service of God's children through her involvement with BrightPoint.  Her love of children and their welfare has also been evidenced through the years and many hours of volunteer service to the PTA. She and her husband have one daughter, and the three of them are members of St Ann's Catholic Church in Marietta, GA.  All are avid Auburn fans!

 

Carrie Britt

Carrie went on her first mission trip to an orphanage in Cambodia in 2008 and was instantly hooked. Fueled by a passion to help God’s children all over the world, she returned to Cambodia twice and also visited orphanages in Guatemala. Carrie is proud to be both a Georgia Bulldog and Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket! She received a B.S. from UGA and an MBA from Georgia Tech. After spending many years in the software industry, she is now enjoying the nonprofit sector. She lives in Marietta with her husband and three precious sons.

 

Cathi Cahn

Cathi joined Brightpoint in 2017 as the Sponsorship Coordinator and is thrilled to be able to use her passion for education, children, and community engagement to work with Brightpoint and their partners around the world. Before joining Brightpoint, Cathi was the director of a Christian preschool. Prior to that she worked at The Home Depot Foundation for ten years as a program manager for youth and environmental grants throughout North America. She volunteers for animal rights organizations, serves on the preschool board of directors and on the Christian Education Committee of her church, and teaches Sunday School. She also enjoys hiking, yoga, and reading. She lives in Marietta with her husband Jeff, daughter Danielle, and son Jesse, along with their four rescued pets, three cats and one dog.
