Daraja Children's Choir
The music will start and the drums will begin to beat as the room fills with the sound of the Daraja African Children’s Choir. Dressed in their vibrant Kenyan costumes with radiant smiles, the children express the joy and hope they have found in Christ through song and dance.
Daraja means "bridge" in Swahili. The choir is an integral part of the ministry of The 410 Bridge (www.410Bridge.org). These children will help serve as a "bridge" between Kenya and America, communicating the needs of the many orphans and vulnerable children resulting from the drought, poverty and disease prevalent in their country. The children of the choir will thrill you with their song and dance, but more importantly they will inspire you with their testimonies of love and hope.
Many of the children of the 2009 Choir are orphans and have suffered severe hardships in their young lives. The great news is, they have found the source of hope in Jesus Christ and share that hope in a very powerful way.
BrightPoint for Children works with partner The 410 Bridge to find sponsors for these children. All are orphans or children of a single parent struggling to make a living, and the children need support to continue their education.
