Segera - Endana Primary School
The Segera Mission is located north of Nairobi near Mt. Kenya. It is truly an oasis in the middle of a rocky desert. The people of this area are very poor and struggle to grow any crops. Water is a major problem, and nothing grows. The children must herd any animals many kilometers each day to find grazing and water.
The Mission was formed to help these people, with medical needs and education and food for the poor. A man they all called "Pappy", had a vision to build this center, and he and his family have transformed lives. There is much left to be done, and you can help.
Endana is one of primary schools in Segera and the closest to the Mission. They need assistance to raise the quality of education for the 400 children who attend. There are not enough desks for each child, and they share textbooks between several children so they cannot take books home to do homework. There are many supplies needed for the Classrooms such as maps, books, chalk and paper. They cannot afford to give assessment tests on a regular basis, so many children do not do well on their Grade 8 Final National Exam, which determines if they can continue into High School. And there is no money to feed them lunch and most walk too far to go home for lunch (and this may be the only meal some children get because they come from impoverished families).
You can help by sponsoring a Star Student from Endana for only $39 per month!
